Woods
http://www.woodsist.com/woods/
American folk rock band from Brooklyn NY formed in 2005. The band consists of Jeremy Earl (vocals, guitar), Jarvis Taveniere (various instruments, production), Aaron Neveu (drums), Chuck Van Dyck (bass) and Kyle Forester (keyboards, sax).

Woods have released nine albums, the latest being City Sun Eater in the River of Light. Pitchfork Media reviewed one of their previous albums, Songs of Shame, giving the band its "Best New Music" designation and described the sound as "a distinctive blend of spooky campfire folk, lo-fi rock, homemade tape collages, and other noisy interludes, all anchored by deceptively sturdy melodies."

Wired To The Sky (LP Release!!!)
Wired To The Sky is the newest project from Canadian songwriter, Dylan Perkons. After relocating from Montreal to the West Coast, he began performing new material with a group of Vancouver Island musicians. In late 2016 the band entered the studio to record their debut album, produced by Juno Award-winner Colin Stewart (Dan Mangan, Black Mountain, Destroyer). The upcoming 2017 release, titled Steady Sparrow, Steady Flight displays nine of Perkons’ most compelling songs to date. Featured with him are core members Nevada Brown, Pat McTaggart, and Dave Thompson, alongside guest musicians Kathryn Calder, Laura Mina, Marc Jenkins, and Megan McCaffrey. The album sees the band move into adventurous sonic territory swaying between colorful indie folk, eerie psych rock, and blistering alt-country. Full arrangements and Neil Young-esque guitar work compliment the earnest, somewhat melancholy writing woven throughout the songs. Wired To The Sky will be touring western Canada in summer 2017.

Ryan Boldt

Smokey low key folk music with a mild touch of psychedelia.

Ryan Boldt is a Canadian musician and songwriter, best known as the lead singer of Canadian prairie gothic folk band, The Deep Dark Woods. The band originates from Boldt’s birthplace of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

In November 2014, Boldt released his debut solo album The Broadside Ballads. The release features a collection of Boldt’s renditions of traditional North American and British folk songs.

Other influences on Boldt’s performances and songwriting include Ian and Sylvia Tyson, Bob Dylan, The Stanley Brothers, Neil Young, The Grateful Dead, The Band and Leonard Cohen.

Boldt is co-founder of Big White Cloud Recs, a Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC based record label.

Evan Cheadle
https://evancheadle.bandcamp.com/releases
Evan Cheadle’s sophomore album, Make Your Way, made its way into the world via Bandcamp in March of this year. The album, recorded mostly live at a makeshift home studio in a mere two days, serves as a testament to Cheadle’s burgeoning songwriting talent. Cheadle’s intricate guitar picking and delicate vocals instantly transport listeners to a diverse musical world inhabited by the likes of Bert Jansch, Big Bill Broonzy, John Fahey, and Nick Drake. all-the-while avoiding nostalgia’s tepid waters; Cheadle, it seems, stands outside of time.
