Experimental Art Sessions
Tue. September 25th 2012 - Fri. December 14th 2012
@ Burnside Gorge Community Centre
The Experimental Art Sessions were a CRD-sponsored series of instructional art sessions for youth spanning a 10 week period and a partnership between The Fifty Fifty Arts Collective and Burnside Gorge Community Centre. This project was a great opportunity for local artists to reach out into the community and share their skills with the drop-in youth who attended these sessions. The artists have responded positively to the experience, have gained valuable experience teaching youth and have felt a greater connection to the community. For The Fifty Fifty Art Collective, it was a great learning experience in the planning, execution and supervision of a pilot arts program for youth, as well as a partnership with another organisation. The works produced by the youth were impressive, and many new skills were learned.
This project was possible because of the generous support of the Capital Regional District and Opus.
